Japanese has many ways to say yes and no. For example: はい。いいえ。うん。
Well English has many ways too!

Here are different ways to say yes and no:

yes / yeah / yup / yep / uh-huh

no / nah / nope / uh-uh

(formal-------------------------->casual)


Yes and no are the clearest and easiest to understand, but actually I almost never use 'yes' when speaking in everyday life. It's too formal. So it's important to know the different ways native speakers say yes and no.
