お知らせ
Hello again! It’s Dana with another quick English point.
This week’s point is...
−−−−−−−−−−−−
Excuse me.
−−−−−−−−−−−−
In English we use ”Excuse me.” in different situations such as:
*passing someone in a crowded area
*getting someone’s attention
*when we don’t understand what a person said
**Another way we use this phrase in the US is when we do something that is thought to be rude. For example, if you burp loudly in a restaurant, you should say ”Excuse me.”
But we almost never use this phrase to apologize for something.
−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−
A very similar phrase is ”Pardon me.” You can use this and ”Excuse me.” in almost the same situations.
−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−−
That’s all for now. See you next time!!
Good luck!
